I am blessed to be the dad of three beautiful and wonderful girls. It is a huge privilege and responsibility being a parent. I love my girls dearly and I want what is best for them but I know that I can not raise my girls on my own. On my own I will fall short. Yes, God has blessed me with a great wife in Lauren but even the two of us can't do it fully together. We need God's help and the best way to seek God's help is through prayer.
Here is what I regularly pray for my girls:
- that they would know God's love for them and His desire to have a relationship with them.
- that they would grow and mature in their relationship with God.
- that they would be salt and light to those around them.
- that God would protect them physically and spiritually.
- that they would be leaders amongst their friends in doing what is right
- that they wouldn't be followers of the crowd.
- that they would be respectful and kind to all that they come in contact with.
- that they would always do their best in whatever they are doing.
Here is what I regularly pray for myself and Lauren as we seek to be the best parents that we can be:
- that we would have wisdom and patience.
- that we would be sensitive to the unique needs and personalities of our girls.
- that we love our girls unconditionally.
- that we would be positive examples.
- that our girls would see our love for God in our lives.
What are some of the things that you pray for your children and for yourself as a parent?

Kevin,
I saw your blog link in a comment you made to Chuck Warnock today. I really enjoy his blogs and sites. I just stumbled on to him a week or two ago.
As to your question. I have two daughters, one is 29, the other is 7. No, not a typo, we adopted once our nest was empty... never a dull moment around our house!
I pray for them that they would have shalom/peace in their hearts. That God would literally guard their hearts as they go through the obstacle course of life. That they would continue to grow in their hunger for God and His Word. That Annette and I will truly walk in love, wisdom and grace in the difficult moments. That they would truly find the "lane" that God has assigned for them at a young age.
There's more as you know, but alas, I must take this call!

Good stuff, Kevin.
My wife and I just posted some things we want to pray for our son, whom we will soon bring home!
Thanks Randy! And thanks for giving me the idea from your thread on Pastors.com. :-)
